I know it has been awhile since my last post, however, TED 2009 just happened and it's time to take a look at what the present holds in science and technology.
As you may already know, technology has picked up the pace over the last 30 yrs, even more notably, the past ten, with the entertainment world of late coming with the release of the Wii system's new take on game play to the latest breakthroughs in microelectronic technology making computer processing speeds increase dramatically, all the while making them more efficient.
Yet, these things may be getting a lot of air time, while even more exciting inventions and technologies are in the works. Innovations once thought to be the work of science fiction, or, not even thought of at all, more and more, are becoming a reality.
One of these innovations is the emergence of Augmented Reality based games, education, and perhaps the most thrilling of all, virtual reality. GE uses this technology on their web site, so if you want to experience this first hand I suggest that you go to GE.com.(printer and camera required)
Check out this video of one of the many applications the have a emerged since this trend has caught fire:
